• Workshop on Capacity Building in STI Policy Formulation and R&D Commercialization

    The National Science & Technology Commission (NASTEC) has organized a workshop on Capacity Building in STI Policy Formulation and R&D Commercialization in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research and Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), Korea during 30th May to 4th June 2018 at the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA), Colombo.
  • 1st Bureau Meeting of the 14th Governing Council of the Centre for the Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries (NAM S&T Centre) was held on 6th -7th September 2018, at Galadari Hotel Colombo, Sri Lanka

    NAM- S&T Centre is an intergovernmental organization with a primary objective to promote South -South cooperation in science and technology.  Sri Lanka, being  one of the 47 member countries of NAM which includes Latin America, Africa, Asia and European continents expresses the privilege on collaborations with mutual benefits among  scientists, technologists and scientific organizations with non-aligned to other developing countries. National Science and Technology Commission (NASTEC) being the focal point for NAM –S&T Center in Sri Lanka in coordinating the events which are organized by the   NAM –S&T Center.

    One day workshop on ‘Emerging Contaminants in the Environment: Source to treatment’ was successfully held on 03rd of October 2018 at the Wilasurendara auditorium, IESL, Colombo 07 with 48 participants.  It was organized by Young Scientists Forum of NASTEC with the collaboration of Water Forum of the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) and Ecosphere Resilience Research Center, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

Call for Research Proposals

INDIA SCIENCE AND RESEARCH (ISR) FELLOWSHIPS

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Sri Lankans to be nominated for the above fellowships offered by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government India. ISR fellowships provide opportunities for mid career level Sri Lankan Scientists, Researches in the fields of Pure Sciences, Engineering and Medicine to conduct advanced research for a period of 3 to 6 months duration in a reputed Indian University or Research Institute.

Deadline for receiving applications is 15th January 2016.
